Art Classes Oxford
Art Classes Oxford is currently based at St. Peter’s church hall, Wolvercote and at the United Reformed Church in Summertown
All of the courses are designed for beginners and those wishing to improve their skills and many students return from term to term
The sessions are structured and offer demonstrations, suggestions of themes, exercises in drawing and painting technique. I work with the group as a whole and also one to one in order to work with individual’s particular needs. In the painting classes we usually cover a topic over a few weeks such as still life, portrait, landscape, animals, flowers, birds and I aim to build student’s practice and confidence in their drawing and painting skills
There is also scope to work on individual projects, some students for example having a particular interest in an aspect of painting or in a subject. Students use a variety of media including watercolour, oils, pastel and acrylic with most students use watercolour.

There is no hurry to rush from project to project and plenty of time to practice.
The classes are small and friendly, we usually stop for a break halfway through each session for tea or a snack.
the Monday and Tuesday classes are painting and drawing and the Friday morning class, life drawing.
Life drawing involves looking closely at the unclothed model and focuses on understanding how to draw the figure in proportion, developing an understand tone, line and form.
